Fire Operations

The Operations Division, under the direction of Division Chief Eli Nobles, provides a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency requests including:

  • Fire Suppression
  • Medical Calls
  • Rescues
  • Auto Accidents
  • Hazardous Material incidents

Our firefighters are also responsible for many day-to-day duties such as:

  • Hydrant Testing
  • Public Safety Programs
  • Station Tours
  • Maintenance of all fire department equipment, vehicles and station facility
  • Participate in continuing education and skills training classes

We deliver these services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with a combination of paid and volunteer firefighters. Our single station department responds to an average of 2,000 calls per year.

Decatur Fire Department's mission is to respond promptly with adequate personnel who are trained and equipped to handle any emergency situation.
