Back the Blue Tournament was started in 2013 when officers from the department decided to help a fellow officer who had lost his house to a fire. The tournament since that time has been used as a scholarship fund for local graduating seniors who wish to pursue a career in a Criminal Justice related field of study or an Emergency Services field of study. The Decatur Police Department through generous donations throughout the community are able to provide at least two scholarships each year. If you are interested in playing in the tournament, being a corporate sponsor, or a graduating senior wishing to apply for a scholarship contact the police department for further information. Dates and times of the tournament along with scholarship applications will be posted when the information becomes available.
